The Crone's Word For 2025

Every year for almost a decade, I’ve chosen a word to express the energy that I wish to project for the coming year. This year is no different.

Last year I chose the word, destiny as my my word for 2024. I felt that I needed to connect/re-connect to my soul’s essence. That meant examining who I am as a person; my likes and dislikes, my beliefs, my character traits and my flaws and how they have changed over the years. Let’s face it, we should all do a little self examination from time to time, otherwise we will find ourselves in deep ruts of old and outdated patterns that keep us stuck and stagnant.

So that being said, I learned a lot about myself this past year and in turn, after shedding some energetic crap, I learned who I wanted to be, and what I would like to do going forward. Or in other words, where my destiny lies.

Which comes to my word for 2025. I didn’t have to put much thought into this word, in fact, it just kind of down loaded into my head and I recognized it as the natural progression from the results of the personal work I did in 2024.

My word for 2025 is foundation.

Let me tell you why this word was a natural fit for this coming year. After spending 2024 clearing out some old energies and exploring what makes me happy and excited and what no longer fits within my skin, I realized that I could not grow as a person with the same old foundational beliefs and perspectives. I would need to build new ones.

When you build a house, the first thing you need to do after you’ve clear the land and dig out the overburden of loose dirt, is to get down to solid ground so you can create a sturdy foundation in which to support the structure you wish to build. In my case, the foundation I wish to create is meant to serve as a solid support for the plans and desires I wish to experience in the years ahead.

To carry the building analogy on even further, last year I cleared out the overgrowth in my soul and as a result, found both old and forgotten favourite views and new and exciting vistas of possibilities. All I need to do now and throughout 2025, is shore up the foundation that is already there with the needed supports in order to build a couple of floors higher. Because I’m looking forward to an even better view.

As we head towards a year that is sure to be one for the history books, I leave you this piece of advice. There is going to be a lot of turmoil and chaos out in the world this year and because we live in a world where we are connected in so many ways, it will take a herculean effort to avoid it affecting you and your life but if you choose instead to re-enforce your own personal foundations; your beliefs, your morals and your support systems, you will at least weather the storms of 2025 and remain standing.

Remember the story of the three little pigs? Their is sure to be a lot of huffing and puffing from the big bad wolfs of power this year. Be like the pig who built his house out of bricks.
